This may be an alert being generated by bios and it will depend on the
computer and the version of bios it uses what the beeps mean.
I once had a similar situation and it transpired that one of the memory
chips was faulty.
Could mean a trip to a computer specialist.

When I first turn on this coputer, I hear the sound that you would expect to
hear when a computer starts to boot up. The problem is that I keep hearing
beeps and the only way I can get around this is to hold in the power button
