Hi there,

Not sure what is it you'd like me to say but I'll give you some general thoughts. In comparritive terms, I can only compare to the victor stream. I've never used the ptr machine.

I like the booksense because of it's superior build quality. It has a radio as well which, although I may not listen to very often, it does add a nice touch for those rare times. Its clock and bluetooch are useful features.

The stream is a nice bit of kit though I do much rather prefer the booksense.

Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Booksense thoughts

Hello there,

Having seen the Booksense at the recent Sight Village 2011 exhibition, I'm
quite taken with the player and am considering making a purchase.

The current PTX1 player I have on loan from RNIB is, to put it frankly,
unusable when it comes to battery life. Less than two months usage and I'm down to 20 minutes use out of it on batteries if I'm lucky, and that's with
only connecting it to the AC supply for charging. I am considering asking
RNIB for another player (a different model as this is the second PTX1 that's
gone out on me), but I was looking at purchasing the Booksense for myself.

I'd be looking at the TX50 model, as I might as well go the whole hog and
have the Bluetooth etc. included.

Can anyone who has used this player for a reasonable length of time offer
any advice regarding the worthwhileness of a purchase?

Thanks in advance for your time and help.
