If you are using Windows XP service pack 2 you should not even need to install drivers that come with the product as Microsoft seems to have quite good support for Bluetooth anyway. I have a TDK bluetooth adapter here which, I think, came from Carphone warehouse originally though I would not buy from there as you are bound to be able to get cheaper bluetooth adapters from other sources. Hi Alexander, After Peter's sad tales of woe in the last few days, I'm a shade hesitant to comment, however....... I bought a Belkin Bluetooth USB device from PC World. I forget the number as I'm not at home right now, but is it claimed to cover a 100 metre range. All I did was to put the CD in the drive, and follow the instructions. Eventually it told me to plug the USB unit in, and eventually finished the installation. The only thing I was tripped up with, was that it required to be turned on, and that was done by right clicking on an icon in the sytem tray. I then installed the Nokia suite, which in turn asked me how I wanted to connect. Obviously I selected Bluetooth, after which is went into a search routine looking for my phone. That failed, and I then realised I'd not activated Bluetooth on the phone. Once that was done, I was off and running, with my Outlook Contacts and Phone Contacts synchonised. George. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Alexander Shannon Sent: 19 February 2006 15:48 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Blue tooth. Hi to Peter and all, Peter, I hope you don't mind me jumping in on your subject line but I have recently purchased a computer that does not have an infrared port, therefore even though I have installed the correct PC suite version for my Nokia 6600 onto my computer, I seem to think that I may have the same problem as you described at the beginning of this thread, namely, that although I have Talks on the 6600 and PC suite on the PC, I do not have any Bluetooth software including a dongle to connect the two together, since I have always used infrared to connect any previous phones I had to my previous PC as both devices had the relevant ports. Therefore, I would be interested in information on Bluetooth software I can use in conjunction with USB ports since I have these on my PC and although I will not want to upgrade Talks immediately, I believe that I will need Bluetooth related software for the time when I may want to do so. Thank you in advance for any advice.
