Hi George, I went into control panel and found blue tooth. But in devices window I have nothing listed I have nothing listed in Ports window. I have nothing listed in hardware window either. I do not have an accessibility tab. I have discovery, but enabling discovery caused a system failure and bluetooth configuration closes. For some reason the bluetooth device will not "Turn on" or will not be recognised" by the computer. I do get the system sound when I plug it in and there is a light on it that lights up when I plug it in. But that's all I get. And you said this would not be rocket science. To make matters worse, my Talks has just been delivered. I'm like a kid at Christmas who isn't allowed to play with his toy. Now, everyone say... Ah! Hi Peter, As luck would have it, last night I installed a Belkin Bluetooth USB dongle on my desktop, and connected it to my Nokia 6230i. In my case, I now have a "Bluetooth Configuration" entry in Control Panel. If I select that, I am presented with a dialog which has a number of tabs. One of the tabs is called "Accessibility", and contains a check box to "allow other Bluetooth devices to find this computer" One of the other tabs is called "Discovery". This allows you to set the system up to scan for other devices at regular intervals. However, there is also an Icon in the System Tray. If I right click on it, a menu pops up, and one of the options there is one to "Start the device". Another is "Explore my Bluetooth places", and once started, when I selected that, it found my phone OK. George. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Peter Logue Sent: 18 February 2006 14:40 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Blue tooth. I've installed a blue tooth dongle. All went well. I've enabled my Nokia for blue tooth switched on. But my PC doesn't recognise any blue tooth connection. Must I do anything within Control panel? Such as enable sharing etc?
