Oh, Steve, that's probably one of the reasons why I gave up doing
it. That was a while ago so I don't recall all details. Thanks
for the info anyway.

Hi Carol,
You can't mark all and send them all by Bluetooth, Bluetoothwon't let you.
You can only send one file at a time, for security reasons.

Hi Theresa,
Well, either of those two options are rather slow and laborious.(Tried it
between those particular phones and found out!) Don't forgetthough that
you can at least "mark all" so perhaps you'd get away with
BlueTooth.

Hi Steve
I do use Outlook, and have started syncronising it with my newphone. I
don't have a Bluetooth adaptor for my computer because the one Ibought just
didn't work with my Nokia 6600. I managed to pair the phone andcomputer
up, but it would never stay connected for long enough to doanything. The
staff in the shop where I bought it didn't understand why thiswas
happening, so I exchanged the adaptor for another one, but withno more
success. I took it back and got a refund. A friend of mine saidshe'd also
had a lot of problems with Bluetooth - had bought severaladaptors which
either worked once and never again or never at all, then shebought one and
it worked - but doesn't know what was different.
Connecting the 6630 to the computer is so easy!! I just have aproblem with
the backup date from my own phone. I've noticed that the backupon the
memory card is saved as an .arc file. In the Nokia PC Suitehelp, under
Nokia Content cCopier, it says that backup files are saved as.nfb files -
so I suspect this is the problem.
I'm coming to the conclusion that I'll just have to go throughall the phone
numbers on my Braille Lite (where I copied them from in the firstplace) and
re-enter them all. I did wonder about going through my old phoneand
sending each contact to my new one as a business card, but I'mtold that
wouldn't really be very practical if there are a lot of them.

Hi Theresa,
Do you use Outlook? If so, synchronise your old phone toOutlook, then
re-sync Outlook to the new phone. I use Outlook to keep all mycontacts,
and just synchronise. You can't do this with Outlook Express asfar as I
know, it would have to be Outlook proper. The new phones aremuch easier to
set up with Bluetooth, than the 6600.

Subject: [access-uk] Backing up Contacts Etc From Nokia Mobile
Phones
Hi All
Until a month ago I had a Nokia 6600 phone. I had entered incontact
information for lots of people and backed everything up to the
memory card.
I've since had to replace the Nokia 6600 and now have a 6630.This phone
has a different memory card to the 6600. I was wondering how Icould get
the information from my old phone to my new one, so copied thecontents of
the old memory card on to my laptop and then back on to the newmemory card.
The backup file was definitely there.
However, having put the new memory card in my 6630, it doesn'tappear to
read the backup file that is on it. The option to "Restore fromcard"
didn't show until I'd backed up data from the 6630 on to thememory card. I
did a backup of the 6630 (I've entered in lots more contactinformation and
diary entries) and then restored it, to see if it would merge thetwo lots
of data on the card, but of course it didn't.
Does anyone know if there's a way of retrieving the data from myold memory
card? I was never able to link my 6600 up to my computer becauseI didn't
have a data cable and was told by Nokia that there wasn't one forthat
phone. My attempts at linking up my phone and computer viaBluetooth failed
dismally.
Any thoughts gratefully received.
