Carol,

if I am correct in the assumption that you mean Audio Description on all channels on Freeview, then it hasn't been out for me. I have noticed however that on both main BBC/ITV channels it has been dropping out at program start or part way through. the talking Freeview box does however allow you to quickly toggle ad off/on and this usually brings it back in these cases.

Can you do a similar thing with the remote on your television or is it only permanently on/off as determined by a configuration setting in one of the system menus?

Subject: [access-uk] Audio Description Out?

Hi all,

I'm really getting tired of AD outages now and want to try to pin things down. Before I take this further, can anyone tell me that they did not have audio description for part of this week. We appeared to be out again from Monday evening till this morning.

We are wondering if the fault lies with our new TV. (We get a visual message about audio visuals up) but what this means we really don't know.

Thanks for any further help you can give on this one.
