Audible only give the shuffle away with their audible listener programmes, and
I think the commitment is 12 months unless anything has changed recently.
You should be able to transfer the audible material to any player provided you
have the Audible organiser installed to receive the downloads. The downloads
are normally encoded as MP3.

Subject: [access-uk] Audible questions
I wonder if, please, someone would mind clarifying the some questions I have
about Audible?
1. Audible is still offering the Ipod Shuffle as a 'give away'. Is this
though tied to a commitment to take out a subscription? If so, for what
period?
2. What players are people using to play these books? I understand a
proprietory codec or system is used to play and transfer these files. I
understand you may be able to transfer your Audible books to two or three
devices. Is this true?
Thanks for any answers to these questions.
