As I said, I've stayed with an older version of the Audible Manager because
it is compatible with GoldWave[the later versions of AM have removed this
loop whole] thus allowing me to convert to MP3. Maybe Sound Taxi will let
me do this, I haven't tried it with Audible files? -

| Have you gone to www.audible.co.uk and opened the software link. There is
an
| Audible download manager for Windows Media Player 11. I am running Audible
| Manager 5.1.0.2 with no problems.

| Iain - Just checked, and Windows Media Player is already selected under
| option; non the less, when I hit shift P to play a file from the Audio
| Manager in-box, it tries to open in Winamp; the context menu within the
| Audio Manager in-box, doesn't give me an 'open with' choice. Also, it
still
| looks like I need the Audio Manager plug-in for WMP, because when I tried
to
| streem rather than downlaod a title from their website, WMP opened, but
| didn't play the file, it was like it couldn't see it or point to it! Do
you
| know where I can find this plug-in for WMP? I'm still using version 3.6 [I
| think it is] of Audio Manager [it works with Gold wave!] and version 11 of
| WMP -

|| What you need to do is go into Audible Manager. Pressalt+e to go into the
|| Edit menu. Arrow down to Options and press ENTER.Press ctrl+pagedown
until
|| you hear 'desktop playback'. Arrow down until you hear 'play audible
files
|| with Windows Media Player. Tab to the ok button and press ENTER.

||
|| Well Léonie, it has been this time, but like you, I too have found it
|| unstable, and now, I can't streem titles in WMP, because the plug-in
seems
|| to have become uninstalled when I uninstalled the programme [even though
I
|| said for it not to be!] So, I now need to get hold of that plug-in
| again! -

||| Andy,
|||
||| That's great. Audible Manager is a fairly unstable programme in my
||| experience. Good to know it's easily fixed.

|||
|||| Andy,
||||
|||| I've downloaded a book from Audible.co.uk this evening, so it seems
|||| that the site itself is working ok. An HTTP 500 error usually means
that
|| a
|||| script has failed to work or that a database connection hasn't been
made
|||| properly.
||||
|||| It's worth checking your browser settings, as well as your
|||| connection settings and any anti-virus software that may be in the way.
|| It
|||| does sound as though the problem may be some changed settings at your
|| end,
|||| but there's no guarantee of course.
||||
|||| Regards,
|||| Léonie.

||||
|||| Hi all -
||||
|||| I seem to be able to download ok from the Audible.com website, but not
||| from
|||| the Audible.co.uk website!
||||
|||| The .co.uk website produces the message:
||||
|||| HTTP server replies with an error code: 500 internal server encountered
|| an
|||| error.
||||
|||| Any thoughts anybody? I've written to Audible.co.uk, but they keep
| asking
||| me
|||| about firewalls, and wireless routers etc, when I'm using the same
||| equipment
|||| and set-up that downloaded fine from both Audible sites until a few
days
|||| ago! -
