Hi Deon
I have just recently bought an Asus laptop; Model F3SC AP113C.
I installed the latest versions of Jaws and Window eyes and so far they both
seem to work without problems. In some cases I have had both programmes
running simultaneously and they still worked together without hiccups.
The only problem I have had with the laptop so far was that for some
mysterious reason the DVD drive could not be accessed. It appeared that the
registery had become corrupt and I spent a couple of days going through the
settings in Vista to try and repair the problem. I eventually gave up and
reinstalled Vista from the recovery partition on the hard drive.
I needed a bit of sighted assistance to start the recovery process but once
into Windows it was possible to activate the new improved Narrator which has
a much better voice than it's XP counterpart. It also gives you access to
most of the menus and settings in Vista which I found quite impressive.
Although I initially wanted a laptop with Xp I was forced to buy one with
Vista as I wanted an Asus model.
Despite my reservations about Vista I have so far been quite impressed with
it's functionality. Also if you change the look to windows classic it's
pretty much just like using XP only with more options and settings. This
means that using Jaws is pretty much the same as using it in XP. I do
however have residual vision and do not completely rely on Jaws to get
around so there may be things that you cannot do easily with Jaws that I
might do with the mouse cursor.
Below is the spec for my laptop, it's quite similar to yours apart from the
processor and screen.

Hello Everyone
Apologies for cross posting.
Am considering buying the
Asus A8Jr-4P072C
Specs below.
Would JFW 8 work with Vista Home Premium?
Anyone using Asus laptops/Notebooks with screen
readers, particularly Jaws, and encountering problems?
Highly appreciated thanks
