Can't say I had any problems with updating my firmware using the JAWS screen reader. I would suggest not plugging in your radion to the PC though until the software asks you to.

Hi,

Note this process is not easy if you have no sight, since the prompts when
updating the firmware are not spoken.

All the best

Steve

blue screen problem

Ok, fair enough.
For anyone having this particular issue, do the following:
If you're radio refuses to switch on, keep plugging/unplugging the
cable to the radio. I know it sounds stupid, but on several attempts,
it works.
Then, when you have your radio powered up, you'll have to upgrade the
firmware. To do this, you'll need a USB cable type A to type B, which
sell at about £2.50 or similar. I personally got mine from Ebay -
they're not hard to find.
When you've got a cable, insert one end into the slot on your radio,
and the other end into a free USB port on your PC. Next, download the
1.1 firmware (either male or female - it's up to you), from the
following link:
http://support.pure.com/files.php?s=802c44789083ddd64a36b9c4871d9299&id=47
Open the downloaded file, and follow the on-screen prompts until your
radio has been upgraded.
Finally, switch off your radio from the plug and switch it back on,
and you should see that your problem has been solved.
Note: if the 1.1 firmware is already installed, simply overwrite it.
Cheers, and I hope I've helped someone here.

Chris,
Which firmware version are you using?
You can check this by going into the main menu, and havigating to the
"Software Version" icon.
Cheers.

Hi all,
I'm a new member to the list, and actually found it through Google
when searching to the solution to a problem with the Sonus 1XT DAB
Digital Radio.
A couple of months ago, someone on the list stated that their 1XT
wouldn't boot, and wouldn't do anything apart form display a blank,
blue screen.
I was just wondering, do any of you have, or have had, that particular
problem?
If so, you arn't alone; mine died last Christmas, and I managed to
find a solution to the blue screen.
If anyone's interested, feel free to let me know.
