Thanks Tink, I am hoping Steve Nutt will get back on this one. After all, he
sells the Freedom Box/Key to Freedom, whatever. Mike Calvo, the CEO of Serotec
was very up-beat about usability for computer newbies, but then he would be as
he runs the company All the same, if the claims of older folk being able to
get on with things right away are only partly true, it does sound an intriguing
product to say the least.

The screen reader doesn't video-hook like all others do, and no trace is left
on the host system once you've had your session and removed the USB key. Me
thainks its too good to be true, although to be fair, it isn't claimed that the
Key to Freedom is a 'screen reader'; rather they talk of 'system access.

So, come on someone, please tell us more.
Ray

| Ray,
|
| Thanks. I'm afraid I don't know much about the Freedom Box, or the
| C-Saw enabled browsers, beyond what's written on the web site.
|
| I had to give myself a stern talking to, not to download a trial
| just now. I've got exams coming up next month and really ought to get some
| studying done... It just looks far more interesting though...

|
| A thoughtful contribution from you Tink, as usual. I wonder if I can use
| this thread to pose or rephrase a question I asked a day or so back. This
| concerns the Key to Freedom USB device. (Ihope I'll be forgiven for
| changing the subject line a bit.)
|
| This seems to include the Firefox browser, and they make much of the
| simplified access to all manner of programs, including internet browsing.
| Is it really that good that newcomers take to it with the ease claimed? It
| does all of this too without video hooking.
|
| This brings me to the question, What is this c-saw facility? Looking at
| beta release notes of around April, there is talk of c-saw enabled browsers
| and bookmark sharing. I understand you can also label links that are not
| always meaningful. Is this something to do with the said c-saw too?
