There is a remote control with speech that can be used with many video 
recorders.  Rather than programming the video, you programme the remote and 
leave it pointed at the video.

I very much doubt you will ever see an accessible video
recorder.  Indeed a number of high street shops have stopped
selling them altogether.  The video is as good as history.

DVDs are now the in thing.

On top of that, we are now beginning to see digital
receivers with built in hard drives, which finally allow you
to record one station, while watching another.

As for accessibility - well, that's another story.
