Hi Kevin,

For my own part, I prefer Ipodder, as there are many options you can
configure, like scheduled downloads, setting the directory and so on. I
apreciate the need for simplicity, but my real point is that accessible
doesn't have to be simple.

Hi Kevin,

I am not slating anyone, I just wish people wouldn't call their
programs
"accessible" anything. It just makes some of the other programs look
bad,
and they are not.

Hi Douglas,

I agree with You I think the lad from Manchester has tried his best to
make some thing simple and accessible for us to use I don't think he
should be slated for his efforts just my thoughts.

Steve,
If by Accessible Ipodder you mean the free Accessible Podcaster
produced at the
University of Manchester, it is in an early stage of development and
has been made
available for those interested to try out. (If you are talking about
something else, I do
apologise - please ignore what follows!)

The object has been to keep it simple but still capable of doing the
basic things. I
suggested to the developer that an independent volume control would be
helpful if a
screen reader user wanted to listen to the start of an item before
saving it, and it was
implemented within about 24 hours. I intend next week to ask if the
Save dialogue can
be made more accessible in the next version, and I am sure any other
suggestions
would be welcomed.
Ipodder 2.0 is a much more powerful program, but those of us new to
the world of
Podcasts may prefer to start with something simpler.
