It never was the case.  It was only the case that it couldn't be downloaded
in the UK.  It works fine.

Just catching up with this. I thought the app was only usable with the
US Amazon store. Is that not the case now?

Not sure if anyone answered this. I don't know the answer, however if
you go to amazon.com, click on help and look for Accessible Kindle for
PC there should, I hope be details there.
