Welcome to the newly moved access-uk list. NOTE: Leaving instructions, etc.,
are at the very end of this message.
It is actually more practical to do a regular defrag of your hard drive,
to tidy up files which have become scattered across the drive. This
helps to speed up access time when you open files and such like.
In doing a defrag, it will also perform a scandisk at the beginning of
the process. If the scandisk fails, you will not be allowed to proceed
with the defrag, so you can rest easy on that score.

never come across that, not even in win98.
yes, I do have both boxes checked when I scandisk. I'm not sure what is
better. to have both boxes checked or just one?
Or, is it a case that i should scandisk my hard drive more than once in
a
blue moon and have just one box checked for regular scanning and two
boxes
for, say... an every sixth month scan?
I don't know if I'm using scandisk in the way it's supposed to.
confusing, isn't it? lol.
