Hello Valerie,

Just to add - I had a similar problem recently and had to reinstall too. After you uninstal go to the website and download the latest version.

Thanks Chris, I'll try that and let you know if it solves the problem.

Valerie, the only way I resolved this was to uninstall and reinstall. I don't know why, but AVG plays up now and again, and claims that updates couldn't be installed when they're darn well available. Hope that helps!

   Hi all,

I need urgent help with this one if possible. I have had AVG 7.5 installed on my computer for about ten months and until recently it has updated normally. However, I've discovered to my horror that it has not updated since 16th July, and on going to the system tray it reports that the antivirus internal database is out of date. What exactly does that mean and more importantly what action do I take? The AVG has come up every time but it just says the update was unsuccessful. Any ideas? I do hope so!

Valerie Pickles.
