When I had the free version of AVG I couldn't change the time that it did a 
scan - The option for this was greyed out in the scheduler.  It was 
suggested that the time could only be changed in the pro version, although 
someone said that they could change it with the free version.

Hi Donna

I use the Pro version but there's not a great deal of difference between
them. I run a full scan and definitions update every day at 6.00 am If the
machine is not on it will still do them when it is. I find it runs in the
background and most of the time I'm not aware it's doing it. I feel happier
that any problems are sorted as quickly as possible so see no reason to
change the settings.

In the AVG control panel is a Schedule Tasks tab which will enable you to
make any changes you want to.
