Hi james, thanks, I will certainly be getting hold of one of the Logic freeview units. It is a real shame we have to say cheerio to Sky as I think the Skyplus receiver would do the job nicely and doesn't cost too much but hey ho that's the joy of rented accommodation! I don't even think I'm going to go down the route of asking whether the landlord would permit a Virgin media installation!! I did have a look at the Bt vision solution but I'm presuming they don't do a d on their although I don't know that for sure. As I said I think the bet bet in the long run will be to buy a tv with a d built in as and when our current one packs up but that's a major outlay which we could do without at the mo. You are correct in thinking that there aren't any mainstream harddrive-based units or similar that offer AD. However, we have just purchased a Panasonic DMR-EX77EB-S DVD Recorder with harddrive from Argos for £279 and are able to connect the Logik box to this unit so that we can record and still receive the AD. We haven't actually tried recording the AD yet, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work. One of the downsides with this setup is that we can't record one channel while watching another, the Panasonic only has one tuner and we can't use the Logik box separately because everything is going through the DVD player. I realise that your setup would be different because you already have a DVD recorder. I'm not sure how you might go about connecting your existing DVD recorder, the Logik box and a separate PVR to your TV or even if this would be possible, perhaps someone else can help here. I will be moving into rented accommodation in a few weeks and so am probably going to have to forego my Sky digital package and re-enter the world of Freeview, yes you guessed it, can someone remind me of the make & model of the freeview box that was available from Curry's I think at around d£60 which could receive audio description? also am I right in thinking there is currently no combined freeview receiver / hard drive recorder that has audio description capabilities? We do have a dvd recorder but have never got it to pick up the Sky signal to rrecord anything even though it's been checked over by a professional TV engineer. I suppose my other option might be to get a new TV that has freeview built in but cost is as ever an issue and so perhaps that will need to wait until a later date until our current TV dies a death. Finally does anyone know if the Tiscali tv unit has ad capabilities, I have tried finding out from Tiscali but they don't seem to know! I know this has been covered before and probably will be again but please your help would be much appreciated! with thanks, Phil __________ NOD32 2816 (20080123) Information __________ This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. http://www.eset.com
