Hi

I too went through the same procewss but found I was not registered for 1471 call back although I have been with 195 for many years. It is worthwhile checking.

I had originally called on Saturday and although the firl knew what I was on about I think it can only be done during office hours.

I tried this yesterday and had no problem. I asked for registration, after giving my PIN number. Registration checked and said I am already registered.

Like many things, I think it's probably dependent on who answers your call.

Best wishes,

Joan.

I had no problem with this. However, it was a long time ago.

Hi Jim

I haven't got round to doing it thanks, and if that's your experience I
might well not bother (lol). Besides, I hardly ever use the ring-back
facility, but I thought it was useful to know because Ian has been known to
use it, and if we are entitled to it, then fine. But if I'm going to get
the run-around, I'll not bother. I've had enough of that from someone else
today already (smile).

HI Jackie and Dave,

I also am in the same boat and I phoned 195 to register, the operator
didn't have a clue what I was on about and told me to contact customer
services, so I did and spoke to a foreign person who also didn't have a
clue what I was on about, so I gave it up as a bad experience. It's not
worth the hassle.

Good luck to all those who manage to register.
Jim.

Thanks Dave. I'm in the same boat as yourself on this one, so will do.

Hi All,

I have been watching the thread and remembered that I was being charged
for this service. So I rang 195 and enquired about it. The first
advisor told me to contact BT to register, so I did and eventually got
through to the age and disability department, number 0800 9195 91, and
was told that it is with the 195 service that one needs to be
registered. So back to them and the second advisor agreed and put me
through to registration. Apparently those newly registered are
automatically registered on the 1471 ring back service, and those like
myself have to ask to be registered. Why they don't just register
everyone is beyond me. So if you phone 195, ask for registration and do
not accept being told to contact BT.

Dave
