HiI too went through the same procewss but found I was not registered for 1471 call back although I have been with 195 for many years. It is worthwhile checking.
I had originally called on Saturday and although the firl knew what I was on about I think it can only be done during office hours.

I tried this yesterday and had no problem. I asked for registration, after giving my PIN number. Registration checked and said I am already registered.Like many things, I think it's probably dependent on who answers your call.Best wishes, Joan.----- Original Message ----- From: "Iain Lackie" <ilackie@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, November 30, 2007 11:56 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: 1471 free ring backI had no problem with this. However, it was a long time ago. Besides, I hardly ever use the ring-backfacility, but I thought it was useful to know because Ian has been known touse it, and if we are entitled to it, then fine. But if I'm going to getthe run-around, I'll not bother. I've had enough of that from someone elsetoday already (smile). It's not worth the hassle. Good luck to all those who manage to register. Jim.----- Original Message ----- From: "Jackie Cairns" <cairnsplace@xxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, November 29, 2007 3:21 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: 1471 free ring backThanks Dave. I'm in the same boat as yourself on this one, so will do. So I rang 195 and enquired about it. The first advisor told me to contact BT to register, so I did and eventually got through to the age and disability department, number 0800 9195 91, and was told that it is with the 195 service that one needs to be registered. So back to them and the second advisor agreed and put me through to registration. Apparently those newly registered are automatically registered on the 1471 ring back service, and those like myself have to ask to be registered. Why they don't just registereveryone is beyond me. So if you phone 195, ask for registration and donot accept being told to contact BT.
