HI Billy,
But I believe Virgin Media will charge you for using the automatic call service, i.e. pressing button 3 , when using 1471. This was the case with NTL and I don't think it has changed. All telephone companies have to provide free directory services to disabled customers, but not the dialling service.

Regards
Philip

Jackie,
just one more thing on this subject.

If you are registered for the BT 195 service, and you change to Virgin Media cable. I found you can still use the 195 original registry,
Billy

Thanks Dave. I'm in the same boat as yourself on this one, so will do.

Hi All,

I have been watching the thread and remembered that I was being charged
for this service. So I rang 195 and enquired about it. The first
advisor told me to contact BT to register, so I did and eventually got
through to the age and disability department, number 0800 9195 91, and
was told that it is with the 195 service that one needs to be
registered. So back to them and the second advisor agreed and put me
through to registration. Apparently those newly registered are
automatically registered on the 1471 ring back service, and those like
myself have to ask to be registered. Why they don't just register
everyone is beyond me. So if you phone 195, ask for registration and do
not accept being told to contact BT.

Dave
