Hi All,

Please excuse my post to both the ACCESS-UK group (where I'd discussed this
matter when looking for cards) and the PTR list to which I'm subscribed and
would find this of interest.

You may recall that Rob Powell and myself were very interested in the higher
capacity Flash storage cards recently and that we found good prices at
    www.7dayshop.com

In fact I purchased from there with no apparent problems when trying out the
card. Well, I have since discovered that the Flash cards (which originally
come from MagicStore in the States I think) are not compatible for use with
the PTR1. It's rather sad that it took me a little time to realise this as
I prepared the card for use and did a quick test of the "Title" and all
appeared fine. It wasn't until a few weeks later (in fact, earlier this
week) that I needed to use the card for recording that I discovered, ten
minutes into the recording, that the card appeared to be "incompatible".
(Incidentally, I did have a second card also of the same make and got the
same results, so it's not a faulty card so far as I can judge.)

I would be interested if anyone has knowledge of the size and types of
original formatting of Flash cards which the PTR1 can take, or those which
are known to be "off limits".

It certainly is worth bearing in mind that, just because the card appears to
work for the first ten minutes, doesn't mean it's compatible.

I hope this may save someone else from making the mistake I did!
