Hi everyone, As the final details and arrangements are made, here is the latest update on the AAMT Meeting in Red Deer on Thursday, December 12 and Friday, December 13. Firstly, I've set up a listserv to communicate with this group. You may have received a confirmation of this already. To reach the group, just reply to the listserv email - aamt@xxxxxxxxxxxxx. On behalf of the current group, I'd like to offer a warm welcome to the new cohort! Our community of practice has nearly doubled with the expansion this year, adding 28 new teachers to the existing 30 for a total of 58. Due to the size of this group, we needed a much larger meeting space. In fact, we had to book one space for Thursday and another for Friday. On Thursday, we are meeting in Salon A at The Black Knight Inn (2929 - 50 Avenue | Red Deer, Alberta - http://www.blackknightinn.ca). On Friday, we are meeting in The Palermo Room at The Sheraton Red Deer (3310 50 Ave, Red Deer, Alberta - http://www.sheratonhotelreddeer.com/). There will be power and wifi in both spaces. Adobe will provide a continental breakfast for both mornings and a soup/sandwich lunch on both days. If you have dietary concerns, please let me know so I can make arrangements for you. We begin with breakfast and set up at 8:30 a.m., ending the sessions at 4:00 on Thursday and 3:30 on Friday. It is our intention to get everyone on the road home as soon as possible on Friday. IMPORTANT: If you are NOT attending, please let me know as soon as possible by emailing me so that I can provide accurate numbers for catering. Please have your Adobe Master Collection CS6/CC suite installed and/or updated before you arrive, including Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements. I have asked for input from Adobe for those whose districts are not part of the agreement. If you require assistance with this task, contact your district I.T. and/or purchasing department. The ABED/Adobe Agreement (ESO) details are at: http://www.lrc.education.gov.ab.ca/pro/PLIC/Adobe/AdobeAgreement.htm. The Home Use Agreement is at: http://www.lrc.education.gov.ab.ca/pdf/AdobeHomeUseFAQ.pdf. It boils down to which of the four options that your district chose as to what Home Use licence you are able to purchase. Again, I direct you to your district IT or Purchasing department for particular details. If you are limited in your options, there is a deal that is good until December 5th that provides a 60% discount for Adobe Creative Cloud for education - for $20/month. http://www.adobe.com/ca/products/creativecloud/students.edu.html.
