hi, Rick Reynolds
you problen is a conflict to the driver nvidia new up to date.
sorry i´m late .
2007/1/31, Rick Reynolds <rick@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>:
I've had this problem before, but I forget what I did to solve it and I
can't seem to google-up a solution.
I'm running nvidia driver 1.0-9746 on a decently up-to-date Debian Etch
laptop. I've run 3ddesk before with good results. But some changes via
various upgrades caused the glx setup to goof up on me and I had stopped
using 3ddesk. I'm trying to solve that problem now.
I've run glxinfo and verified that 3d direct is on. glxgears runs fine
and smooth. But when I attempt a 3d switch via 3ddesk, the whole system
basically hangs. I can see that it has acquired the graphics and is
attempting the animation (I'm using the cube effect). But it is so slow
that it effectively hangs the machine and I have to kill X and restart.
How can I troubleshoot this?
Thanks,
Rick Reynolds
