Thanks for the quick response. I'm trying that now. No improvement
setting the texturesize as low as 128 (defaults to 1024 according to the
config file comments).
I notice that the daemon only gets started (at first) when a 3ddesk
command is issued. Does it remember anything about the config if I kill
it and restart? E.g. does it get any of its settings when X starts?
I've changed the texturesize several times and seen absolutely *no
difference* in the behavior. It makes me wonder if the new settings are
getting read at all. I guess I'll find out when I reboot...
Thanks,
Rick Reynolds

Hopefully someone else has some better ideas, but I would try turning
down your texturesize and seeing if that helps things.
It would probably tell you if you're looking at video memory issues or
something else.

Hello list.
I've been using 3ddesk for a quite a while now, and love the eye-candy
-- very Mac-ish. I recently switched to a dual-head configuration with
a 3040x1200 display (and I can get a higher, better display as well).
When I attempt to switch virtual desktops in this large desktop mode,
the machine hangs about 25% through the animation.
Is this just a symptom of my video card and/or the amount of video
memory I have and is just to be expected? Or is there some config
change I can make that will allow 3ddesk to work in a dual-head mode?
Also, do you need more specifics (probably from /proc) on my card/system
to answer?
Thanks,
Rick Reynolds
