Sorry if this is getting annoying, but I really aapreciate the amount of supportyou have given me thus far. Anyway I got the source for xscreensaver 4.02 compiled it etc.. it requested that I install gle, so I compiled that. Unfortunatly no help, but the outputs for gflux -mode grab and flipscreen now only say: gflux: texture too large (1024x512 -- probable max 256x256) and flipscreen3d: error mipmapping 1024x512 texture: (unknown) I have quake3 running fine, and I assume that it does its share of texturing. Anyway thanks again for all the help, I'll keep reading and let you know if I figure it out. Andy
