This output shows it has been activated (3ddesk run) so
I presume this is output from when you don't get the "hang"?
What does the output look like (how far does it get -or-
does anything repeat over and over) when the "hang" happens?

Andreas, I think you are right here. Your problem is 3ddeskd
getting in some infinite loop eating CPU cycles before the window
is ever shown (right?). And Jeff's problem is the window not
grabbing the keyboard or pointer once the window shows up.
Jeff:
Do you get the "xgrab.." messages in /var/log/messages? I
think there is something preventing the grab, like as in
another application that grabs the keyboard/pointer -- perhaps
its enlightenment??? Do you have any other applications
running that may do xgrabs etc? Anything unusual?
