I've been kinda slow to get around to updating things, but now that I
have, I'm having a little trouble with the new version. I'm using
enlightenment with redhat 7.2. I keep everything fairly updated
using red carpet.
On installing the rpm, I got an error about needing libGLcore.so.1.
I blew this error off since I had gotten it with 0.1.6 as well. I just
used --nodeps to install with. I don't know if this is the source of my
problem or not, but I suspect not.
0.1.6 worked just fine on the same system, except for the keyboard
grabbing problem. Now when I run 3ddeskd, everything seems to work just
fine, but when I run 3ddesk, my interface locks up.
If I don't use the --workspaces switch, then everything works as
expected, but of course I can only see 1/5 of my actual desktops without
the --workspaces option.
When my interface locks up, I can still recover using
ctrl-alt-backspace, and sometimes (rare though) I can actually just hit
the keys that I was going to hit anyway, and I pop up at the new
desktop, I just didn't get to see any of the kewl 3d action in between.
Most of the time I am just locked up though. If I ssh in from another
machine, I can do a killall 3ddesk, and my interface almost always comes
back to life as well.
I'm thinking that this might be what is happening to the other user as
well. Maybe it's just something with --workspaces + enlightenment?

Nothing is as simple as it seems at first
Or as hopeless as it seems in the middle
Or as finished as it seems in the end
