I've just been through a crazy reloading of packages on my laptop. I
ended up uninstalling and reinstalling 3ddesktop.
I thought that if I entered '3ddesk --gotoright' without having first
started the 3ddeskd process, it would detect this and launch the
server process automatically. But my reinstalled version doesn't seem
to be doing that. Is there some configuration option I applied months
ago to get it to do that?
It's acting like I need to manually actually start the 3ddeskd
process. I'm fine with putting that into one of my startup scripts if
necessary, but I didn't think I needed to do that.
Oops, I found my problem. The new install of packages must have changed
something WRT permissions in /dev/nvidia*. When I fixed the
permissions, the client package 3ddesk was able to start the 3ddeskd
correctly. All is well -- at least for 3ddesk.
Thanks,
Rick Reynolds
