I have seen this as well, on a single-processor system. It only happens
occasionally, though, and I believe it is only if i hold the key for a
little longer than normal. My guess would be keyboard repeat, and the
window-manager is queueing TWO keyboard events (but the second does not
get processed until 3ddesk is done). Actually it is probably related to
the little delay before anything moves when invoking 3ddesktop. I think
I tend to keep the key pressed until it activates, which is probably why
it queues two events. If there was just some way of configuring
key-repeat-rate on a key-by-key basis.
