Yes. Aparently it happens regardles of the setting of this option.

Cool! =)

No, you are right. I am fully aware that MetaCity in fact sees the
desktops aligned side by side, but since the applet allows you to
specify the placement in two rows (which saves space on the panel), I
was wondering if there was some way to tell 3ddesktop about this. What I
was thinking was that although all the desktops are side by side, it
would be nice to allow pressing up to switch from desktop 3 to 1 etc.
In fact this is how metacity is configured as default under RedHat9.0.
When pressing Ctrl+Alt+ one of the arrow keys, it switches eg. from 2 to
4 when pressing down, etc.

But say one had a window manager that supported for instance 2x2
desktops, would
3ddesk --mode=flip --gotoup
flip arround a horizontal axis, as opposed to the vertical axis used
with --gotoleft and --gotoright??

What I was thinking was why not be able to flip the desktops like this
when switching from one desktop to another, eg.
3ddesk --mode=flip-diagonal --gotoleft
It certainly looks cool ;-)
