[3ddesktop-dev] Feature requests :-)

Hi.

I just installed 3d-Desktop, and it really kicks ass. I have
occasionally experienced the 3ddesktop-lost-keyboard-focus-problem(tm)
as I found described in the mailinglist archives, but it is not often
enough to want me to go away from 3d-Desktop. Hopefully someone will
find out exactly what causes this, so the problem can be fixed. Until
then I will just hope it doesn't happen while showing off to some of my
Windows-fanatic friends ;-)

But still this is extreme nice. Keep up the good work.

I discovered a small glitch when using the "flip" mode. Aparently the
desktop is not switched quickly enough since the flip-mode is quite
fast, so when switching from desktop 1 to 2 it will correctly do the
flip, and then for a fraction of a second show desktop 1 again, before
desktop 2 is shown. In the other modes there does not seem to be a
problem, since they take a little longer (with the zooming etc).

Also I really can't figure out why the flip-mode always flips from left
to right when calling it with --gotoleft or --gotoright, but it flips
both ways when using the keys in flip-mode. It changes to the correct
desktop, but flipping should be "the other way" when using --gotoright.

Is there a way of telling 3ddesktop that it should order the 4 desktops
as
  1 2
  3 4
instead of putting them all side by side. I am using gnome2.2 with
metacity, and the desktop-switcher applet has the ability to show the
desktops on two lines, althoug they are virtually side by side. I have
not been able to figure out if i can configure it for 2x2 desktops, but
only found out how i change the number of desktops. Any suggestions?

I guess it could probably flip arround a horizontal axis as well, if i
figured out how to configure it for 2x2 desktops instead of 4x1, but it
would be nice if this could be "emulated" by 3ddesktop by telling it the
"positions" of the desktops.

And what exactly is going on when i use "3ddesk --mode=flip" and press
up? Now, that looks cool, although it doesn't change anything.

I have not yet had the guts to take a look at the code, and I'm not too
familiar with c++, so if anybody has any suggestions to any of the above
issues, any help would be appreciated.
