Freecycle
http://freecycle.org/
The worldwide (!) Freecycle Network is made up of many individual groups
across the globe. It's a grass roots movement of people who are giving
(& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. Each local group is run by a
local volunteer moderator (them's good people). Membership is free.
One rule: everything posted must be free.
Whether it's a chair, a fax machine, piano, or an old door to be given
away, it can be posted on the network.
Or, maybe you're looking to acquire something yourself?
Respond to the poster directly and you just might get it.
Have fun and keep on Freecyclin'!
++ There is more on the web site.
This is a great concept.
I am a moderator on one of the groups here in the lower mainland of BC
Canada
It is a good time of the year to be giving away some of the stuff you no
longer need.
I found someone looking for the old 5 1/4 floppy disk and was able to
recycle them.

It is a good day if I learned something new.
