A Walk Through Time
http://physics.nist.gov/GenInt/Time/time.html
A thoroughly interesting website from the National Institute of
Standards and Technology Physics Laboratory dealing with the
evolution of time measurement.
This well-documented historical overview includes ancient
calendars, early clocks, the revolution in timekeeping and the
atomic age. In addition to the graphics which illustrate the
topics, the site provides world time scales and time zones and
information on the services provided by the NIST. Even a link to
free software which can be used to set computer clocks.
