An open forum for discussing the emerging technology of information markets (a.k.a. prediction markets, idea futures). This can include discussions of technical innovations, business ventures, or academic analyses. Information markets are markets in state-contingent assets which a patron constructs for the purpose of aggregating information from diverse participants on topics of interest to that patron. Examples include the Iowa Electronic Markets, the Foresight Exchange, and the Hollywood Stock Exchange. There is now a DARPA initiative on this (find "SB012-012" at http://www.acq.osd.mil/sadbu/sbir/solicitations/sbir012/darpa012.htm ) there are half a dozen hitech companies working in this area, there have been several recent academic conferences, and there are dozens of academic articles on this topic.
