Craughwell-Athenry Group Broadband Scheme

The rural area around Craughwell and Athenry (in Galway, western Ireland) has no broadband internet access, and the population is too low to get interest from the isp's. This list is to be used by a group of technically-minded local people to discuss possibilities on designing and deploying our own solution using a wireless WAN and/or satellite technology. The gbs stands for "group broadband scheme", and represents a collaborative, non-profit effort by motivated locals.
