This is a list designed for, but not limited to homeschooling mothers, specifically those using the Charlotte Mason literature-based approach, to tackle some of the classic books that we missed out on in our own public school education. We believe that a high quality, classical-type of education should be open to everyone without cost and that technical resources online make this possible. For that reason, we attempt to use classic books that are available for free on the internet. We encourage literacy and broadening of ideas of our members by sharing good literature, quotes, poems, ideas and classical music especially as these relate to Christian home-educators who aspire to a Charlotte Mason education. All members are welcome and even encouraged to share their best with the group. Our goals are to work through the "Great Books", to read as widely as possible of quality literature and to take advantage of the availablity of online educational references and resources that members may not know about or otherwise have access to. With those aims in mind we will be choosing books to read and discuss. We make opportunity of the use of free public-doman online etexts, notes and music sites, sharing free public websites and instructions on how to access and use those resources. As most of our literature discussions are based on online etexts, we also share tips on reformatting etexts.
