The Rescue Community is an International Community of Emergency Rescue and Relief Volunteers.
The Rescue Community does not speak on behalf of individuals, groups, and no one person speaks on behalf of all members of the Rescue Community or the peace network.
We are also working on the Imagine Seven Project. For more information see: www.ImagineSeven.org
We're activists planning to live together to help create a better world. We'll live in a form of community known as a 'Social-Justice Diversa-Village (also called a diversa-village). A Diversa-Village is an village with a priority on Social Justice, Diversity and World Peace.
'We must think in terms of restructuring the home itself, so that it can be made more suitable to the demands and diversity of our new families.”
-Betty Friedan, from ‘The Second Stage.’ Author of ‘The Feminine Mystique’ and the founder and first president of the National Organization for Women (NOW).
'True peace is not the absence of tension, but the presence of justice.' -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
To learn more, please visit www.RescueCommunity.org or (in Spanish)www.LaComunidadDeRescate.org. No rent or membership fees are required. Over 60% of the operating costs come from donations given to us for rescue work in Hurricanes, Floods and blizzards, nationwide. We use Lynux based OpenSource Computer Systems to create our Emergency Rescue and relief telecommunications network in order to assist people worldwide in emergency situations.
Aditional information: We also help network non-corporate, independent opensource computer users together in an effort to reduce reliance upon multinational corporate computer systems and softwares. The Billions of dollars in Funds spent on multinational corporate computer systems and software each year reduces the funds that should be directed toward people suffering in natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods, tsunamis, etc.
All are welcome. Bienvenidos.
