These comments are rarely accurate since productivity and creativity are human values that rarely depend upon the machine itself. This is your opportunity to demonstrate your creativity to the community at large, and learn more about your old machines in the process.

Mainstream GPS

This list is intended for any blind or vision-impaired person who uses, or is considering using, a mainstream GPs (satellite) navigation solution, not specifically designed for vision-impaired people. There are already several specialist GPs products such as Humanware's Braille Note GPS and trekker, and the street Talker/destinator software which runs on freedom scientific's Pac Mate. But many vision-impaired people are successfully using more mainstream alternatives such as the Wayfinder software which can run on some symbian Series 60 mobile phones in combination with the Talks screen reader application from Scansoft, and there is the potential for a great expansion in the use of other GPS-based technologies, as screen readers for a wider variety of mainstream hand-held devices are developed. This list is designed to enable the sharing of ideas relating to these and other non-specialist solutions.
