Today most of the issues concerning patient safety have to do with the use of technology in hospitals - how we can better utilize staff, protect privacy, and still used such innovations as internet communication, electronic physician order entry, etc. Most hospital staff (esp nurses) are not comfortable with the new technology and need a forum to share ideas.

Ride For Fatherhood

To give a single short email address to assist in the dissemination and archival of photos, daily journals, requests for information, and observations from a cross-country bicycle ride. Reports and coordinates will be submitted using a variety of mediums ranging from web-based email, cellphones, ham radio, text pagers or relay / word of mouth. Using a mailing list like this will allow us to use advanced mobile technologies in order to submit our daily journals and photos to one single email address, an important factor when one considers how many different types of electronic communication might be used during a cross-country bicycle trip. At the same time, we will be trading tips and hints on long-distance bicycle touring, similar to the Georgianbents list, also on Freelists. All of our riders are ham radio operators and will also be coordinating both on and off-air meetups in the various states as we pass through.
