Audubon Society of Central Maryland

The ascm-list is a tool to facilitate communications among the members and friends of the Audubon Society of Central Maryland (ASCM). We use quite a bit of technology in our Audubon pursuits, e.g., GPS for nest location, webcams for nest monitoring, computers/internet for local and national bird census tabulation, digital cameras for "digiscoping" (using high-power spotting scopes coupled with compact digital cameras), FRS/GMRS and Ham Radio repeaters for communications and so on, but our main concerns center around "non-tech" stuff like preserving and improving the environment, wildlife habitat preservation, and the like. This may entail the use of simple pick and shovel technology, but these days conservation and environmentalism are steeped in technology-related matters by definition.
