La Camera Oscura, attività di conoscenza ed approfondimento del processo di produzione dell'immagine fotografia, rischia di essere travolta dalla corsa frenetica al digitale, non un'inesorabile agonia, ma un suicidio pilotato per lo spostamento del mercato fotografico su un settore dalla maggiore redditività finanziaria. Di sicuro, si è in una situazione nella quale il possesso esclusivo di informazioni commerciali o di tecniche di trattamento del negativo e della stampa, invece di rappresentare una risorsa commerciale costituisce un limite per chi vuole continuare a praticarla, perché questa parcellizzazione costituice la pietra tombale per un mercato che diviene ogni giorno più difficile, sia per chi vende che per chi acquista. Interessa allora trovare un modo per non disperdere le conoscenze che negli anni si sono venute via via acquisendo e per metterne a parte altri fotoamatori ancora titubanti di fronte all'allestimento di una Camera Oscura od al trattamento in proprio dello sviluppo fotografico. Non si propone un gruppo, né un forum organizzato per argomenti, ma semplicemente un "rispeditore automatico" che rinvii a tutti gli interessati le e-mail che gli sono indirizzate e che possono riguardare la più ampia gamma degli argomenti che interessano la CO: dal negativo alla stampa ed alla sua conservazione, dai materiali alle tecniche, al reperimento dei primi (dove ed a quale prezzo), ai boatos sulla sopravvivenza o sull'innovazione etc etc; dopodichè possono o no stabilirsi contatti diretti tra gli interessati, formarsi gruppi di acquisto o quant'altro. Un Forum nel quale sia lecito anche solo stare ad ascoltare, nel quale la replica non sia dovuta o attesa, un deposito di conoscenze che aiuti a ricordare, a problematizzare, ad adattare le vecchie procecure ai materiali ancora in commercio e quant'altro possa fare vivere la Camera Oscura al di là delle ragioni puramente finanziarie che ne starebbero decretando la morte.

Szakosztályunk az internetes újságírók és a szakterület iránt érdeklõdõ kollégák fórumaként jött létre. Mintegy hat éven át levelezõlistákon, e-mailen tartottunk kapcsolatot. Információt és véleményt cseréltünk az online újságírásról, az újságírás színvonaláról és etikájáról, a média változásainak tendenciáiról, a közélet eseményeirõl, fontosnak, érdekesnek ítélt jelenségekrõl. Az újságírás általános szakmai kérdései mellett jobban összpontosítunk kiemelt céljainkra: az online újságírás színvonalának javítására, érdekeinek képviseletére, az internet kultúrájának terjesztésére. Szeretnénk, ha ez a törekvésünk érvényesülne tagságunk szakmai összetételében és kapcsolatrendszerünkben is.
