Duchenne Foundation
		To update users about current news, research, treatment, fundraising and support for families affected by Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy in Australia. 1 in every 3,500 males is affected world-wide by Duchenne. We are geographically dispersed and the only way we can network is via technology. We subscibe to journal article alerts as up-to-date research is happening on a weekly basis now, with many human trials commencing around the globe. Without a digital method of distribution, we cannot update our stakeholders and they cannot respond with questions to the more knowledgeable stakeholders to explain the research. Our website has a forum and conference room, but only by pushing news via an email listserv can busy professionals and parents caring for severely disabled children have the time to keep abreast with the latest developments. We were sponsored by the auDA foundation throughout 2006-7, which is the domain registration authority of Australia.
