Participation Opportunity -- New Media Careers Research
Are you a web designer, web developer, content producer, information
architect, or project manager? Or have you worked in one of these
positions (permanent or freelance) in New York City for at least six
months total between 1993 and the present?
If so, please consider participating in a Columbia University study of
new media careers.
Your participation will include an interview covering questions about
your past jobs, job-seeking strategies, pre-new media background, future
plans, and opinions about challenges and opportunities in the new media
industry. Interviews are tape-recorded and take about two hours; at the
end of the interview you will be given a short follow-up questionnaire
to complete and return by mail. A copy of your resume will also be
requested. All the information you provide as part of this study will
be kept completely confidential.
The goal of this study is to learn more about how new media workers have
forged careers amidst the industry's rapid technological and economic
changes. If you are able to participate, or if you have questions about
the research, please contact:
