[webproducers] Re: Salary Survey Results- $60k/year

One of my producers (a title that's synonymous with project manager in our
company) is PMI certified. I can't say that's it brought her a lot in terms of
salary but it's one of the main reasons I hired her--she knew more about PM
than I did. It's also made her the main decision maker when we're evaluating PM
tools and resources. The next time I'm hiring a senior producer I will
definitely give more points to the people who are PMI certified. It tells me
that they actually know something about the process of project management and
they aren't just a developer who got promoted to the position without merit. (I
hope no one takes offense to that, but I'm sure we've all known developers who
somehow became PMs when they had no idea how to actually manage anything or
anyone. It's not always the case, but for someone who makes hiring decisions,
it's something I look into very carefully.)

  Yes! title sm'itle.

I am just wondering if anyone out there has done the PMI process, and what
the subsequent results were. More work? More $$? or was it not worth the
  time?

  Thanks!
