It's not a permanent fix, but if you use Acrobat you can change the page
orientation to landscape. It will alleviate most of the screen appearance
problems since the pain is usually with page width (as opposed to height).

This is true but mainly for fonts since it will replace whatever's on the
screen with a high resolution eqivalent.

Layout is always preserved while image quality will vary depending on your
compression settings.

The main advantage of using Acrobat is that it creates an editable,
compressed, printable, and electronically distributable archive of a web
site.
