[webproducers] Re: Producer rates at Startups

I can't speak to startups. I work at a large pure-play web shop. But
I would also be interested in hearing what all levels of interactive/
web project managers are being paid at your organizations. I am in
Chicago, and the going rates are getting higher and higher. As a
hiring manager, it's making my job very tough. This is what I'm
seeing as current "asking" salaries for Project Managers doing web
development (sites and online advertising) on the agency side (i.e.,
not client-side). I know titles are different at other shops, so
takes these as levels of seniority:
Program Manager, $100-125K
Senior Project Manager, $90-110K
Project Manager, $85-95K
Associate Project Manager, $65-75K
Project Coordinator (entry level), $40-50K
At the top (director) level, the salary doesn't jump much from the
Program Management level. Sadly.
These seem high to me, but it's what every candidate is demanding.
What is going on in other markets? Anyone else from my area have a
different or similar experience? How are you negotiating salary?
