[webproducers] Website audits.

Dear group,
Two pieces of business.
1. For those of you who live in or near Manhattan, my monthly ACME Irregulars
No Agenda Social Club is meeting at ACME Bar & Grill this Thursday, 630-10 PM.
Morry can vouch for a good time. The tag line is
"Cheap eats, cheap drinks, cheap fun."
Acme is located on Great Jones St. just west off Lafayette. $3 Hurricanes and
1/2 price appetizers all night at the bar. Great socializing cross-platform
and some effective networking opps. People have gotten
new clients and work as a result. It's a CoF (Company of Friends), WWWAC,
TechNetNY, and webproducers.org free-for-all.
2. Only a little more seriously is my question. A VP-Marketing at a client
company was referred to me to learn why the corporate site is not working the
way she envisioned. She thought I'd just give her some
quick fix suggestions over the phone as a favor. Ended up meeting after
bringing in a technical person to balance the team and prepared a detailed
proposal with everything we would do, including face-to-face
interviews and phone interviews with users,...the whole nine yards.
This is a financial services company trying to migrate their broker dealers to
the site and cut back on expenses by providing downloadable collateral sales
materials, etc. They continue to call in to have these
things faxed and Fedex-ed. There's also a desire to attract retail clients and
prospective clients. None of this is happening.
The problems begin with the home page and go on from there. You name it; it
was done wrong by the company that produces their print brochures.
Just curious as to what you all think the going price range and what kind of
time investment is to do this sort of detailed analysis.
I'll follow up with the outcome after I read your responses. It's still going.
