Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for the feedback! It's been great and it looks like I've got
some work cut out for me over the next few days.
Just to address a few common questions - the top right logo goes to our
current, temporary site. Once the conversion takes place, that link will go
to the index page of the site you're reviewing. (temp site be gone!). Also,
the colour of the front page was purposely designed to be darker than the
rest of the site. However, judging by the feedback, I'm contemplating making
all pages the same. It was the designer's idea...go figure :)
Another interesting point brought up, similar to Josh's below, is that there
doesn't seem to be any direction once arriving on the site. I'd like to
focus on that a bit if I may? Our content writer has been writing through
the eyes of a school official or teacher who is interested in joining the
program and calls up the site to get more information. This person will
already have some knowledge of the project - through email, print material
or even phone calls. With this in mind, would you be saying the same thing
if you were this person?
However, in saying that - another point of view is someone who has had the
coin passed to them after receiving a kind act. That person is then
responsible to commit three kind acts of their own but also log onto the
site and submit their "kindness story". By looking at the coin and the
information engraved on it, do you think a holder of a coin will know what
to do once they've entered the site? Although as I type this, I'm thinking
the content writer is planning on shifting the focus on the front page after
the coin has been launched in November to accommodate that specific user....
Josh's comment about too many choices on the front page is interesting. Can
anyone elaborate on how it would work better and still be accessible to
those who know where they want to go and want to find it easily? Site map
link maybe?
I'll be meeting with one of the Project Directors tomorrow, who is also
writing the content and I plan on giving her everyone's ideas and thoughts.
I definitely hope to implement as much as I can.
Re: the Quicktime movie, my link is working fine, is anyone else finding the
same problem? (Video Library link off of the main page)
Again, thanks everyone!
Kindest regards,
Susan

I agree with the comments and also wonder:
1. Why is the graphic "Invest in a Kinder World" on the home page a link to
http://www.investinakinderworld.com/ (a very unassuming site that seems to
convey the same information.)
2. I'm reviewing it on a Mac, G4 powerbook, OS 9.2, with an IE 5 browser and
an cable modem. I would imagine most schools are cable modem ready rather
than dial-up. So, FYI, it works really well.
3. In terms of UI, there is definitely too many choices on the homepage
without any direction or reason to select them.
4. QT movie is a broken link
Sorry, I would review more, but I'm really tired...good luck.
