[webproducers] Re: Project Manager experience

I just wanted to say that I responded personally to the people who wanted to
know
why only stayed at Deutsch 6 months.
I didn't feel that a public forum was appropriate for the things I had to
say.
For the record, I was at my previous agency for almost two years and am
approaching one year
at my current workplace with no intention of moving.

I think that during the Internet "Boom" it made economic sense to move
quickly,
because that's how the market was. To stagnate was to die. Now, its less
prudent. duh.

That being said, I think that generally you can suss out pretty quickly if a
work environment
is going to be healthy (relatively) or dysfunctional. And rapid turnover is
generally less a
reflection of the employee than the company. If someone I'm interviewing
has a string of short-term jobs, I tend to look somewhat askance at their
resume -
but I think everybody has, at one point or another, taken a job they thought
would
be beneficial only to realize quickly that it was a bad fit.

I don't think that duration of employment is necessarily the best (or most
useful) metric by which
to judge an employee or a company. There are so many mitigating factors to
be considered ....
