Junior Designer/Technical Producer
Marketing and Communications
Description:
The Junior Designer/Technical Producer will assist our Designer/Technical
Producer to develop and maintain UJA-Federation's websites.
The Junior Designer/Technical Producer will use industry experience and
judgement to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and
latitude is expected. This position reports to the Director of Interactive
Services.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include assisting the Designer/Technical Producer with the
following:
* Performing back up and ensuring user accessibility to the sites.
* Monitoring site traffic and review site architecture for new website
products and features.
* Troubleshooting, testing and overseeing the launch of new features.
* Installing and troubleshooting software/hardware for Interactive
Services department.
* Management of domain name registration.
* Maintaining and providing ongoing design of the website (including
site and promotional design.)
* New page/template graphic design; Flash design, HTML coding,
scanning, sizing and cropping images.
Skills/Experience:
Undergraduate degree and 1-3 years experience. Other competencies include:
ability to successfully manage multiple campaign/projects simultaneously;
working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CGI, CSS, and other web development
tools; ability to identify the root of a problem- and then develop/implement
a plan to correct it; positive attitude; and ability to work well with
others in a team-oriented setting.

E-Mail Communications Manager
Marketing and Communications
Description:
The E-mail/Communications Manager plays a key role in communicating the work
and message of UJA-Federation to the community. This position is responsible
for managing and executing all e-mail activity, including newsletters and
e-philanthropy initiatives, from beginning to end for internal clients. This
includes: strategizing, list management, writing and assembling the message
elements, scheduling, testing, managing the approval process, and generating
campaign results.
The E-mail/Communications Manager reports to Director of Interactive
Services and works to prioritize, track, and set time schedules for multiple
e-mails and other web-related projects. This position will also be called on
to assist the Director with organizational e-philanthropy initiatives as
well as new initiatives that reach out to the community, such as auctions,
bulletin boards, and other targeted projects.
Major Responsibilities:
* Manages all details of email campaigns from conception to
distribution for multiple internal clients.
* Performs thorough quality assurance process to test e-mail
functionality.
* Analyzes results of all campaigns by developing queries and
performing analysis to maximize response and conversion for future
campaigns.
* Performs ongoing testing to improve, and scale email efforts based
on performance measures.
* Gathers industry research and competitive information for email
strategy development and optimization.
* Projects, including all e-philanthropy initiatives.
Skills/Experience:
Applicants should possess excellent written and oral communications skills,
be able to communicate clearly in layperson's terms, and work independently
while functioning as part of a team and managing multiple projects.
Creativity is encouraged. Applicants must be very technologically savvy &
have at least 2 yrs exp in the following areas: working knowledge of HTML
and/or other web authoring/publishing tools, e-mail marketing methodologies
and best practices, database management and experience with mass e-mail
distribution applications, and online writing and editing experience.
Previous experience with nonprofit organizations and a commitment to
UJA-Federation of New York's mission a plus. Bachelors degree required.
